Finished this last night and it was a FAB read. A real epic set in India, Burma and Malaysia, it was a great story with very evocative writing and great characters. My only complaint is that it occasionally jumped forwards in time a bit artificially '4 years later...' but this was a very minor annoyance. I would highly recommend this and now wonder why it had been sitting on my bookcase for so long...
